The goal of the Association of Hospice Spiritual Masters is to have a Hospice Spiritual Master available in each hospice in the United States. There may also be Spiritual Masters in diverse settings, such as churches, synagogues and mosques, as well as assisted living facilities.

The Ancient Hospice Way can connect with various spiritualities in diverse settings.
The Association seeks to build bridges with the soulful traditions of faith expression both East and West, as well as New Age, through writings and spiritual reflections, the fullness of soulful end of life care in our world may be revealed.in a variety of settings in our society. The Association of Hospice Spiritual Masters proposes to sponsor a national Symposium online each year on “Embracing the Ancient Tradition of End-of-Life Sacred Care”

The Association gives voice to the “Ancient Hospice Way”. We invite you to join us in preserving and sharing anew in our modern world this ancient path of spiritual care for those at the end of life.
The Association of Hospice Spiritual Masters exists to preserve the ancient sacred heritage of soulful companioning in hospice care, which I call in my writings the “Ancient Hospice Way”. We seek to give voice to this way of soulful care at the end of life in our modern world. Providing this sacred care truly constitutes a unique art form
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Reverend Dr. Kenneth Patrick
Ken had a powerful near-death experience in 1987 that called him to compassionate ministry with the sick and dying.
He holds a Doctorate Degree in Divinity and PhD studies at New College, The University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
He is a graduate of the Shalem Institute For Spiritual Formation, the U.S. Army Chaplain School, and has over 17 years experience as a Hospice Chaplain at Blue Ridge Hospice, Winchester, Virginia. He has been an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
